maxi-dresses

For most fashion-conscious ladies, picking clothes that are both affordable and chic is extremely important. Maxi dresses that are comfortable, classy but also have a great price can absolutely meet their needs. Maxi dresses are usually ankle or floor-length empire waist casual dresses that come in various necklines, prints and colors. They are formfitting at the top and loose flowing at the bottom. Floral print maxi dresses are really popular among teens for their sweet and stylish look.

Maxi dresses can flatter almost all body shapes, from plus size to petite, as an empire waist can hide any tummy bulge or wide hips. They are perfect for tall, plus size women. A floor-length maxi dress rather than ankle-length dress looks much better for petite ladies, especially paired with high heel sandals in the summer. Flats will only make them appear shorter.

As for necklines, many different styles are available – strapless, halter, spaghetti strap, one-strap and sleeveless. Strapless empire waist maxi dresses are great for small busted ladies as they can create a curvy silhouette.

Compared to expensive prom dresses and evening gowns, these trendy cotton maxi dresses are even affordable enough for fashionistas to buy one in each style.

For fetish or fun, latex clothing bound to turn heads

latex-clothing

Latex clothing is a unique material with which to use to make apparel. Traditionally, latex clothing has been made with rubber for protective articles, such as rubber masks and Wellington boots. These latex clothing items are now being made with plastic in favour of rubber. In addition, latex clothing raincoats have traditionally been made with rubberized cloth. Outside of conventional use, latex clothing is more commonly associated with fetish fashion and BDSM and is often seen worn at fetish clubs. Latex clothing is also employed with maximum effect by designers who want to draw out its dramatic appearance. Since it clings to the skin, latex clothing produces a unique effect, coupled with its shiny veneer.

Latex clothing can be used to make leotards, bodysuits, stockings and gloves, as well as most conventional apparel items. Latex clothing also includes more specialist fetishistic garments such as hoods and rubber cloaks. Latex clothing is generally made from large sheets of latex which are delivered in rolls. Conventionally, fetishistic latex clothing is black, but the latex material itself is naturally translucent and can be dyed any colour, including metallic shades, red or white. Latex clothing also comes in varying thicknesses, from 0.18 mm thick to about 0.5 mm, which is the average. Instead of being sewn, latex clothing is generally glued along the seams. Because the material is relatively weak, latex clothing requires special care to avoid tearing. Latex clothing can be mended using materials used for bicycle repairs, but the results rarely restore the original appearance of the garment. Latex clothing is often polished to preserve and improve its shiny appearance.

Wearing latex clothing is tricky because the material maintains a high degree of friction against dry skin. To ease the wearing process, talc is used for latex clothing to minimize friction against the skin. Since talc is visible against the rubber, excess talc powder is brushed off. Another agent used to help slip on latex clothing is lubricant, resulting in a slippery surface for the latex to glide. One can also chlorinate the rubber to reduce or eliminate the high friction of latex clothing. Chlorine is generated by the reaction of hydrochloric acid and sodium hypochlorite. This chlorine bonds to the first few molecules on the surface of the isoprene (latex clothing) and transforms them into neoprene. This process does not affect non-metallic colours or strength.
Latex may also be painted directly onto the body in liquid form, which is also sometimes used to close seams in the creation of latex clothing. Removal of a full-body liquid latex clothing garment can result in the removal hair removal as well, so it is important to prepare the skin for the removal of the latex to avoid “hair waxing.” The “second skin” effect of latex gives off the appearance of stealth. In addition to providing a greater range of movement, latex clothing makes less noise than other types of clothing. The latex clothing look is associated with classic icons such as Catwoman in Batman Returns as played by Michelle Pfeiffer.

Whatever the motives are behind one’s reasons for taking on latex clothing, heads are bound to turn whenever this look hits the streets.
